Electro-desalination and dehydration is a core pretreatment technology in the oil and water treatment industry. Its core principle is to use a high-voltage electric field to break up oil-water emulsions, cause water droplets to coalesce and settle, and simultaneously remove dissolved inorganic salts from the water. Its main applications are concentrated throughout the entire oil and petrochemical industry chain, and extend to environmental protection fields such as industrial wastewater treatment.

I. Core Applications: Oil and Petrochemical Industry (Primary)

1. Upstream Oilfield Produced Fluid Treatment (Before Crude Oil Transportation)
Onshore Oilfields: Treats produced fluids (oil + water + salt + mud) from oil wells, reducing the water content from 10%~30% to **<0.5%** (light oil standard), achieving acceptable salt content and meeting pipeline and storage tank safety requirements.

Offshore Oilfields / FPSOs: Adapts to the limited space and harsh operating conditions of offshore platforms (high salinity, high water content, heavy oil, strong emulsification), achieving efficient and compact dehydration and desalination to ensure crude oil transportation and platform safety.

High water content / old oilfields / heavy oilfields: Conventional gravity settling is inefficient; electrostatic desalting and dehydration is the mainstream solution for efficient demulsification.

2. Downstream refinery crude oil pretreatment (before atmospheric and vacuum distillation)
Deep desalting and dehydration: Reduces crude oil water content to 0.1%~0.2% and salt content **<3~5 mg/L**, preventing:
Corrosion, scaling, and column flushing in distillation towers and furnaces
Catalyst poisoning in subsequent hydrogenation and catalytic cracking
Increased energy consumption and decreased product quality
Applicable crude oils: High-salt crude oils (Middle Eastern, marine oils), heavy oils, and high-acid-value crude oils.
